Private Oasis

These homeowners tasked us with designing a patio and gardens that would perfectly complement their gorgeous pavilion. They wanted to include their existing swim spa in the design while ensuring that any potential drainage issues caused by the slope of the property were taken into consideration.

The original design included an area for turf, but once we were on site, the homeowners decided they’d rather expand the garden area. Since we were in charge of design and overseeing the installation of the project, altering the design “on the fly” wasn’t a big issue for us.

Access was tight, but our team maneuvered our equipment into the backyard without significant impact on the surrounding landscape. Boulders and shrubs were placed along the back fence for privacy, turning this stunning backyard into a private oasis.

Key Features

  • Patio built using natural stone pavers
  • Native plantings
  • Garden shed

Backyard Bliss

The homeowners of this gorgeous home in Mono had a big wish list… but because their property is heavily sloped, they were worried they wouldn’t be able to have everything they wanted. We put their mind at ease and went to work.

The slope did prove challenging, but we designed the project to work with the natural elevations. A retaining wall was built to level the area where the pool was installed, and natural boulders were used to build up the patio and garden areas.

Tiered decking and strategically placed greenery provide privacy from the neighbours. Now, the homeowners have a backyard that is everything they hoped for.

Key Features

  • Private patio with custom firepit
  • Tiered decking
  • Pool
  • Pool house
  • Pavilion over the deck
  • Garden design and planting

Urban Hideaway

The homeowners of this beautiful property in a new subdivision loved the garden we designed and built for their front yard, so they had us return to design their backyard too.

The biggest issue they were facing was the lack of privacy around the pool area, which is often a concern in an urban setting. They were looking for a natural solution that would help support the local wildlife — something we’re passionate about — so it was decided to create a berm at the back of the property, along with natural boulders, to elevate the garden area. A variety of coniferous trees were included in the design to provide year-round privacy.

Key Features

  • Pool with tanning ledge
  • Native plants
  • Coniferous trees for year round privacy
  • Sustainable garden design

Modern Meadows

Estimated Completion Date: Summer 2026

Drawing inspiration from the warmth and simplicity of Arizona desert landscapes, Modern Meadows balances rugged texture with refined structure. The design features gravel courtyards, stone pathways, and clusters of drought-tolerant perennials and grasses that evoke a modern, arid aesthetic. Sculptural plant forms, layered textures, and natural boulders soften the home’s architecture, while potted accents and sage-toned foliage add depth and contrast. At the heart of the space, a contemporary firepit patio framed by clean stonework and warm teak furniture offers an intimate gathering area that feels both minimalist and inviting - a serene outdoor escape rooted in timeless, southwestern calm.
